Pump House and Storage Shed fully repaired...

Our repair efforts were greatly supported by the generosity of our sponsors at the
Highlands County Solid Waste Management Center.  The county had a huge shed nearby made of the same material that is contained in our sun shades.  While our sun shades were only  moderately damaged by Hurricane Jeanne, the County's shed was completely flattened.  The HCSWMC manager graciously offered the salvageable material from it for use in our rebuilding effort.

Resourceful club members were able to secure enough material to not only repair the sun shades but also enough to refurbish the damaged main storage shed and completely rebuild our flattened pump house.

We're very pleased with the progress of our facility restoration and are back to enjoying the camaraderie of model aircraft operations.  We're hoping that the upcoming hurricane season will spare our facilities and will not again distract us from our chosen hobby.

Pictured to the right are are our designated cooks for the day, Bill Doyon and Bob Kosh.  They are cooking up a post-meeting barbecue behind one of our freshly repaired sun shades.
