Casualty Reports
26DEC03: "I crashed and burned my bird", reported pilot, Richard Jorgensen. He's now awaiting a new, replacement aircraft to install what parts he was able to salvage from the 'crunched one'.
Richard is taking this casualty in stride and suggested that "any fellow pilots who have experienced this fate aren't interested in seeing a pile of toothpicks! Ha!"
I think we're interested, Richard. While none of us like to see fine airplanes damaged or destroyed, it's real hard not to cast an eyeball on the wreckage and try to learn from the mishap. We hope to see you at the field with your new airplane real soon!
02JAN04: Jim Messer's huge biplane "exploded" in mid-flight. Reportedly those present were in "shock and awe" after observing the airplane come apart with a loud BANG! It seems that the wing struts weren't adequately fastened causing a wing to fold. Jim intends to rebuild his big, beautiful biplane. He says it needs a new lower wing and nose. No photo available.
