The HRCC Flying Field
The Highlands Radio Control Club flying field is located on Arbuckle Creek Road near Sebring, Florida.  The flying site is owned by Highlands County and is located within the boundaries of the Highlands County Solid Waste Management Center.

The HRCC flying field features two 450' x 75' perpendicular grass runways with overrun areas at each end. Two sunshade areas are also on site with picnic tables, bulletin board, transmitter impound and frequency board. Our pit area features waist high tables for working on aircraft and we have seven pilot safety stations.

We fly year round!  Guests are encouraged to drop by and meet with the club members and watch the fun and flying.  The busiest flying time is in the morning, especially during the winter.

Directions from the North:

TAKE US 27 SOUTH TO SEBRING , TURN LEFT (EAST) OFF US 27 AT THE INTERSECTION OF SEBRING PARKWAY AND SCHUMACHER ROAD ONTO SEBRING PARKWAY, CONTINUE 2.8 MILES TO THE THIRD TRAFFIC SIGNAL  AFTER US 27, TURN LEFT ONTO HOME AVE, CONTINUE 1/4 MILE AND TURN LEFT (NORTH) ONTO CR17, CONTINUE .4 MILES AND VEER RIGHT IN FRONT OF THE BP STATION ONTO CR-17 AKA ARBUCKLE CREEK ROAD . CONTINUE APPROX 10 MILES TO HIGHLANDS COUNTY SOLID WASTE MANAGEMENT CENTER (LANDFILL), TURN LEFT AND CONTINUE 1/2 MILE, KEEP RIGHT THRU WEIGH STATION, CONTINUE 200 YARDS AND TAKE FIRST RIGHT, GO THRU GATE, HRCC IS ON THE LEFT.

Directions from the South and West:

AT THE INTERSECTION OF US 27,HWY  98, AND SR 66 TURN RIGHT EAST  OFF US 27, STRAIGHT THRU TRAFFIC LIGHT IF TRAVELING EAST ON RT 66 , PASS BETWEEN SHELL AND CITGO STATIONS ONTO HWY 98 (RT 66 BECOMES HWY 98). CONTINUE SOUTHEAST 11 MILES TO THE TOWN OF LORIDA, TURN LEFT  AT FIRST ROAD AFTER FLASHING LIGHT ONTO ARBUCKLE CREEK ROAD, CONTINUE 1.2 MILES THEN TURN LEFT ONTO ARBUCKLE CREEK ROAD, CONTINUE 4.5 MILES  THEN TURN RIGHT INTO THE HIGHLANDS COUNTY SOLID WASTE MANAGEMENT CENTER (LANDFILL), CONTINUE 1/2 MILE, KEEP RIGHT THRU WEIGH STATION, CONTINUE 200 YARDS AND TAKE FIRST RIGHT , GO THRU GATE, HRCC IS ON THE LEFT.

Directions from the South (Okeechobee):

TAKE HWY 98 NORTH TO THE TOWN OF LORIDA, APPROX 1 MILE FROM RAILROAD CROSSING TURN RIGHT ONTO ARBUCKLE CREEK ROAD, CONTINUE 1.2 MILES THEN TURN LEFT ONTO ARBUCKLE ROAD, CONTINUE 4.5 MILES THEN TURN RIGHT INTO THE HIGHLANDS COUNTY SOLID WASTE MANAGEMENT CENTER (LANDFILL) CONTINUE 1/2 MILE, KEEP RIGHT THRU WEIGH STATION, CONTINUE 200 YARDS THEN TAKE FIRST RIGHT, GO THRU GATE, HRCC IS ON THE LEFT.

We will hosting the Boy scouts of America at the flying field for lessons and simulators, we are  asking for Volunteers and if you have trainer cord compatible with Spektrum radios to contact Sean Silverman.
